Dear Editor: In reply to a request for some news for your paper, I am 'enclosing herewith a brief summary of conditions here at the present time, 'which may be of interest to those of 'this far off corner of the Dominion. one of the few on record where autos 'were used continuously, the "light snow fell not being sufficient to ser- iously interfere with their operation. Spring opened up early and seeding was general the second week in April. owing to the light fall of snow, so the work progressed rapidly and was finished in record time. There was never a time all spring that germination was delayed for lack of moisture. High winds persisted th han LETTER FROM SASKATCHEWAN your subscribers who have friends in ' The past winter was unusually fine; The soil was in fine mellow condition the months of April and May, and in localities where the soil is light d iderable d to crops through soil drifting. Some fields too, were set back temporarily by a light frost about May 1st, but their recovery has been as rapid as it was complete. There has been an in- creasing abundance of rainfall as the month of June progressed, so that, although the temperature has con- tinued cool the growth has been rapid, and the crops generally have that deep rich color that tells of a thrifty condition, The social life in this comparatively new land, while perhaps less active and formal than in the east is none the less hearty and wholesome. By no means the least of the events of the season, will be the second an- nual re-union of old timers from the vicinity of Uxbridge, Port Perry and Greenbank, that is to be held at the farm of Mr. F. Howsam, Colfax, Sask, on July 10th. This re-union draws the partici- pant from a radius of fifty miles or more, so from this fact you may judge for yourself the warmth of memory that lingers in the hearts of those who at one time made their homes in that part of dear old Ontarig. If the writer is permitted to attend this function he hopes to have some issue. N. Linton. jiu - PRP-PE SSD LARMER-WOODLEY On Wednesday, June 16th, 1926, at the home of Mr. Frank Woodley, was the scene of a very pretty wedding, when his eldest daughter Lucy Beatrice: was united in marriage to Harold James Larmer by Rev. Wm. The bride was given away by her father, and wore a dress of white Alltyme Crepe and Georgette, and veil, and carried a bouquet of June Roses and fern. Little Doris Britton of Toronto, niece of the bride, acted as flower girl and looked sweet in a dress of pale green crepe de chene trimmed with lace and carried a basket of lily-of-the-valley. After supper the happy couple left amid showers of confetti and gogd wishes for Toronto and Michigan. The bride travelled in navy taffeta, navy cape coat, sand hat, gloves, shoes and stockings to match. On their re- turn they will reside on a farm near Burketon. : em---------- WANTED A girl for general house work. "Apply to Mrs. J. D. McMaster, Port Perry. RE TULL. 3.'
