Apply at Star Office. tine -------- PHINEAS"R: "CARSON IS DEAD IN TORONTO Phineas Robert Corson, a citizen of Toronto for over fifty years, and one of Canada's oldest commercial travel- lers, died at his residence, -38 Wells Street, after a lingering illness. He was born in Port Perry in 1855, and was widely known in his earlier business career as the representative of H. A. Nelson & Sons, and John Taylor & Sons. Later he founded the Sovereign Peffume Company, and when a reorganization was effected he became identified with other com- mercial activities, He was the second son of the late late Alvin T. and Lydia E. Corson. In 1878 he married Mary Emma Smith of Middletown, Deleware, and there were born two sons, Robert C. Carson, deceased, and Clayton 8S. . Corson, of Toronto. In 1898 he mar- ried Inez McPherson, of Toronto, who survives, together with three children Burnside, Inez and Ray. A brother, Stanley, in Chicago, and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Merrick, Mrs, A. Butler and Mrs. W, F. Inglis, also survive. In religion he was a Methodist,«and in politics a Liberal. The funeral will take place Thurs- day from the residence of his son, Clayton S.
