They have not been enjoying as good health as could be wished, so no form- al entertaining was done; but a num- ber of old friends dropped in during the day to offer congratulations and good wishes. Pleasing among re- membrances was a nice pipe and case to Mr. Bradley form the S. 0.E, and the gold piece to Mrs. Bradley from the W.C.T.U. Among the mes- sages received from a distance, none was more fitting than that which follows, and which so well expresses the good-will of the many friends of Ne and Mrs. Bradley. Oh golden be the sunshine That smiles on you to-day, As golden as the light of love That shines upon your way; And golden be each y Ww. C. T. U. The regular monthly meeting of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, will meet at the home of Mrs. John Swan on Wednesday, March 30th, at 3 pm. A full attendance is kindly requested. Everybody wel- come, ERIE 0) ARLE FOLLOWED BY FATE The Ladies of St. John's Presby- terian Church had a good audience to enjoy the play presented by the young people of Sonya in the Town Hall, on Wednesday evening of last week. The play was in dramatic form, and pictured the experience of Phoebe Ashcroft with the adventurer Harold La Motte. The play runs through four -acts of tragedy and comedy, but in the end right triumphs and everybody is happy but the vil: lain. The parts were well taken. This form of entertainment is very pleasing, and is of great educational value to those who take part, » The 'following is the cast of. char- acters. A PLEASING SERVICE 'On Sunday morning last the ser- vice in the United Church was con- ducted by members of the W. M. 8S. and the speaker was a returned mis- gionary from Africa--Mrs, Tucker, wife of Rev. Dr. Tucker, also' a mis- sionary. Every detail of the service was carefully planned, enjoyably and pro- fitably carried out. Mrs. Tucker is a most interesting speaker and gave a clear idea of the missionary work undertaken in Africa, and the part taken by the W. M, S. The ladies' choir proved admirable leaders in the musical service. Mrs. D, Carnegie sang a beautiful solo in the morning; and Mrs, Smallman and Miss Miller, a duet in the evening. Upon request Mrs. Tucker spoke at the evening service.
