Mr. George Smith, of High Point, was well enough to return to his home last 'week after spending about two months in Port Perry Hospital. We are pleased to see that Mrs. Ellen Bell about again after her re- cent accident, in which she fell and broke her arm. Herbie McArthur, who at the Sick Children's Hospital, is slightly im- proved; but is still very seriously ill. Mr. Geo. Hull has exchanged his hoyse and lot on Queen St., for pro- perty in Whitby, and expects to move there next month. Miss Elvie Bentley and Miss Reta Cowle of Toronto, spent the week end with the latter's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. LeBar. "Mr and Mrs. H. C. Nasmith are visiting friends in Montreal. Mr. M. L. Carnegie has the contract. ee Aha The Induction The induction of the new Rector of the parish of Port Perry and Brooklin 16th inst. The Bishop of Toronto had hoped to have been present but urgent business prevented 'him from coming. __ His place was taken by Archdeacon Warren, who was driven out from the city by some members of St. Dun: stan's congregation, Mr. Nind's last parish. The Rev's J. H. Colclough, of West Hill, D. B. Langford, of Port Whitby, R. B. Patterson, of Oshawa and P. G. Powell, -of Blackstock, were also pre- sent together with the ministers of the Presbyterian and United Churches in town. The Archdeacon inducted the new rector after which the keys of the two churches were handed to him by the wardens. An address from the Arch- deacon followed by a hymn and the Fenediction brought the service to a | close. Before returning the visiting clergy and friends were served with the light ladies of the church, when a pleasant time was spent.
