Purdy spent Saturday and Sunday in Toronto, at- tending the Father and Son Banquet, and Mother and Son Tea, given by the members of the Tari Kappa Chapter, Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. Mr. Harry Willard attended the funeral of his uncle, the late George Heatlie, at Wick, on Tuesday. Inter- ment was made at MacNeill's Ceme- tery. Miss Grace Davis" is visiting with friends in Guelph. PRINCE ALBERT Mr. Albert Midgley of this village has bought the property of the late Mrs, Alice Forrester and takes pos- session April 1st. A public sale of the household ef- fects of the late Mrs. Forrester will be held on March 26th. On March 17th, Mrs. D. L. Williams celebrates her 97th birthday. Each year her daughter-in-law Mrs, Eds Williams, arranges a birthday party in honour of the day and the same group of friends gather each year to celebrate and make merry. We are pleased to say Mrs. Wililams still en- joys good health. On Sunday last there was laid to rest in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mrs. Alice Campbell Braund, who was born in her grandfather's home in this village some sixty-four years ago. She grew to girlhood and married, living for a few years after marriage in this community. The last twenty-five years were spent in the town of Lind- say. Her interests were always con- nected with the church and every good work. She was one of the leaders in the musical life of our village being associated with the group including the late Mrs. Annie Hayes Heard and the late James Balfour. The first period of the game was rather slow. However, Fred Switzer for P.P.H.S. succeeded in scoring a fluke goal from the corner. The period closed with the score 1-0. n the second period both teams exhibited ood fast hockey. Uxbridge played ard on the affensive but did not suc- ceed in scoring and the period closed with P.P.H.S. still in the lead. By the third period the ice was rather badly cut up and the players were slowed up considerably.
