The grounds of this camp have been lit with electricity, and a permanent cook house has been built. Last week eighty boys from North Ontario Coun- ty enjoyed the camp. This week one hundred and fifty boys from Weston are having a good time there, These two camps are to be followed by two others, one of senior boys, and the other of girls. Evidently the Scugog Summer Resorts are beginning to come into their own, and we shall.gsoon see more of these summer camps established on the shores of Scugog. Several new buildings. are . being erected at Scugog Point, where an- other boys' camp is established. sate me "SHORTY" CAMPBELL--COWBOY Our people were treated to a fine exhibition of rope handling at the water front on Friday evening of last week, when "Shorty" Campbell put his ropes through a series of twirling tricks that made the crowd wonder how he could do it. The Port Perry team must have been dazzled by the vividly coloured uniforms of the Ducos, for they pulled several of those plays known as bone- head and seemed to throw the ball aimlessly around the diamond. Their loose play in this manner accounted for a god many of Oshawa's runs. Port Perry used two pitchers. The first, Sam Masters, held Oshawa, for three innings but in the fourth a bar- rage of hits drove him from mound. Sam Naple, who succeeded him had little better luck. He was very wild and 'walked several Osh#wa batters. Hinnks, Oshawa hurler, was also rather generous with the free trips to first, but he showd form in the pinnhes and fanned a goodly number. This defeat gives the locals six There are still eight to play and they may do better in the latter half of the schedule. Their next game in at Thornton's Corners on Friday night. The box score: Duco-Boys 20052031-13 Port Perry 00001200--3 Batteries: Hincks and Arnold; Masters, Naple and Harris. HHO.
