A prayer meeting was held in the basement of the church last Tuesday evening led by Rev. R. T. Richards. The attendance was fairly large, the meetings are to be continued for some time. Mrs, W. Martyn, we are pleased to report, somewhat improved in health. The death of Miss Louisa Brown came very suddenly last Wednesday morning, when she 'was found breath- ing with difficulty. Death is believed 'to have been due to a stroke. She by meting will be in charge of group 9, at home, Mrs, Ball is remaining with her sister for a time, The Ladies' Aid held at the home of Mrs. Murphy, last month, was well attended and enjoyed by those for tunate enough to be there. The regular monthly meeting of the Women's Auxiliary of St. John's Church will be held at the home of Mrs. John Forder on Thursday even- ing, February 20th, Mr. Wallace Pascoe and sister Dorothy, of Enfield, spent Tuesday evening last at the home of Smith Bros, On Friday evening of this week a progressive euchre party will be held in the township hall under the au- spices of the Ladies' Orange Lodge. The skating party held by the teachers and pupils of the continua- tion school on Tuesday evening last was 'well attended and greatly en- joyed.
