Miss Mabel Stone, who has been seriously ill for some time, is now on the road to recovery, and has been able to return home from the hospital. We trust she may soon entirely re- cover from her illness. Mrs. Mellow will not receive again this season. Mrs. (Rev.) Merriam is visiting her mother and other relatives near Belle- ville. The icy condition of the highway during the week made motoring un- pleasant and several cars skidded into the ditch and had to be hauled out by other power. The Adult Bible Class held their regular social evening at the home of their teacher Mrs. Edward Mole, on Friday night, the president Mr. Geo. Painter, in charge. Mr. Ralph Annan read a paper of his own composition, which provided much merriment. Games and music were enjoyed until lunch was served, when the happy gathering broke up, moving a hearty vote of thanks to the host and hostess. The community were pleased to learn through the press that the C.N. R. train service was not to be cut off entirely between Lindsay and Whitby although the proposed service is not too satisfactory, it is much better than what was proposed at first.
