Rowland, of Stirling, The bride who was given in marriage by her father, entered the church to the strains of the wedding music played by the organist, Mrs, Cecil Cornell. Her wedding gown was of blush rose pink net and chantilly lace. The skirt was formed of alternating tiers of net and lace, flowing from a bodice moulded to 'the figure and developéd in lace. The frock, which was sleeve- less, had a short jacquette falling over the wrists. "A large hat of pink chip straw had a band and flat bow of wide blue velvet ribbon. She wore pink satin slippers, with matching hose, and lace mittens. Her only ornament was the gift of the bridegroom, a rove of pearls, and her bouquet, showered with white ribbons, was of sweethea .t roses, lily-of-the-valley and forget- me-nots. The maid of honor was th: sister of the bride, Miss Genevieve L. Sandy, of Toronto, and the bridesmaid was Miss Maurine Stillman of To- ronto. They wore net frocks of sim- ilar type. Miss Sandy in powder blue and Miss Stillman in yellow, with large mohair hats, slippers and hose in matching shades, and white gloves. They carried bouquets of golden talis- man roses. Mr. A. Gordon Skinner, of Cayuga, was groomsman, The ushers were Mr. Willard E. Stillman of Camp Borden and Mr. George W. Woolner, of Toronto. During the signing of the register, Miss Marjorie Laidman, Brantford, sang. She wore a frock of pink moire satin with matching hat of mohair. After the ceremony, the bridal party and their guests, numbering about fifty, motor- ed to Peterboro, where a reception was held at the Empress Hotel, and buffet refreshments were served from a table centred by the bride's cake, and arranged with pink gladioli in silver vases, and pink tapers in silver candlesticks, Receiving * with the bridal party were the parents of the bride -and bridegroom. Mrs. Sandy * | wore-a French gown of beige chiffon and lace, made in jacquette style, Her beige hat was trimmed with green, she wore green costume jewellry and green shoes with beige hose. Mrs. Gemmell was in mauve georgette with a matching hat. Both wore corsage bouquets of Ophelia roses. Mr. and Mrs. Gemmell left later by motor for a trip to Gaspe Peninsula, through the Maritimes and the Adirondacks. On their return they will live in Port Perry. For travelling, the bride chose a two-piece Patou model of chocolate brown crepe, with a matching coal. The bodice, with elbow sleeves and a peplum, was of eggshell satin. Her close fitting French hat of feather- weight chenille was in brown and beige, and her shoes, purse and gloves were in two-tone effects in the same colors. SCUGOG On Thursday evening, July 30th, about ninety of the campers at Pine Point gathered around a huge bonfire where a fine program, including com- munity singing and contests, was given. The prizes were won by Mr, Fletcher, Toronto, and the two Miller boys of Oshawa. This was followed by an enjoyable weiner roast and con- cluded with Auld Lang Syne and the National Anthem. « Mrs. Joblin and her Sunday School Class entertained a number of their friends last Tuesday evening.
