It will be, we hope, a real get together of our young and old, as it is the first time we have had the pleasure of a social gathering at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Milner since they came to our community. The League Social on Wednesday evening was a gay affair. The games and contests were unusually interest- ing, but the spécial feature was the . presentation of the beautiful Y.P.S. pins to ten of the young people who have earned them by attending 12 successive meetings. Others will have earned these pins in the near future. Our pastor, who is in close touch with all the young people's work, furnished the lemonade which was much appre- ciated. It went fine with the fancy cakes. - Mr. and Mrs. Mark and family moved to their new home in Shirley last Tuesday. They were presented with a little token of remembrance. Community singing followed at the close of which the ladies were favored with a very unique form of entertainment, viz. "A Mock Wedding". To the strains of the Wedding March played by Miss Florrie Parr, the bride and groom entered the drawing room. The bride, Miss Mabel Argue looked charming in her mother's wedding dresg, a lace curtain veil, tissue paper orange wreath and bouquet. The groom, Miss Miss Marjorie Milner is spending a few weeks with relatives in Union- ville. There are a number of little folk starting to school this week to learn to read and write and all the rest that is on the first rung of the ladder. Congratulations to Mr. Ralph Mil- ner, for he still holds a high place in his class, also to Audrey Hood and Lillian Fralick. The Centre Sunday School is having a very exciting time with their tug-of-- war, The first few weeks the girls gained on the boys. They are to have twelve ahead to win. On Sunday the boys just lacked one of the number. The losers have to treat the winners. Let's all go to Sunday School. Giebner and grand-daughter Miss Audrey Spragg, have returned from Toronto where they spent the Easter week with friends. Mr. Jas. Myers and son Whitlock, and Mr. H. B. McKercher, were recent visitors at their homes. Mr. Myers 'has several large sawing contracts in Peterboro which he says will require the most of the summer to finish.
