Richardson, of Whitby, were guests at the home of the latter's sister, Mrs. S. N., Griffen, on Sunday, Rev. R. T. Richards, Rev. W. Elliott, and Messrs. S. Farmer and R. D. Woon, are in Lindsay this week at- tending the Bay of Quinte Conference. Mr, Forbes Nasmith is on a bicycle trip to Parry Sound. Mr. Glen Collacutt, was visiting in town this week. Don't forget the Dance to be held in the Pavillion, on Wednesday even- , ing, June 8th, under the auspices of the local Boys' Softball Club. Splendid music will be supplied by Jack Galloway and his Silver Stirl- ings. Round and Square Dancing. Proceeds to help defray expenses for the coming season. The Young Women's Auxiliary of St. John's Presbyterian Church will hold their June meeting on Wednes- day, June 8th, at 8 p.m., at the home of Mrs. Ivan Spencer, Greenbank. Mr. Hopkins and family of Oshawa, are moving into the residence of Mr. Ed. Brookes. Mr, Hopkins is taking a position at Gerrow's Bakery. We welcome them to this community. Sgt.-Major Hodgson, Mrs. Hodgson and son, of Chatham, England, visit- ing with R. B. Smallman, on Sunday. Mr. Harley Balfour, of Uxbridge, spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Balfour. Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Gibb are sailing for Scotland on June 3rd. L O. D. E. The Decoration of Soldiers' graves at Pine Grove Cemetery, by Scugog Chapter, will take place on Friday, June 10th. Cars will leave the Town Hall, at 7 p.m. promptly. The Chapter will welcome any citizens who care to attend this service. L O. D. E. It is interesting to note that there were six brothers in the Lucas family and that five of them were presént for this happy oc- casion. During the evening the family pre- sented Mr. and Mrs. Lucas with an electric' frigidaire and 25 beautiful roses. He had for many years been connected with Old England Lodge of the Sons of England, of which he was one of the early members.
