On Monday evening a hardball game was played between Blackstock and Pontypool at Blackstock, and once the score being 5-1 in favour of the visiting team. On Thursday evening our boys' softball team played the game as per schedule at Manchester, and came home the winners, the score being 18-8 in their favor. The community hall was seated to its fullest capacity on Tuesday even- ing of last week when the following schools put on a Musical Festival un- der the direction of Miss Ward, the school music teacher, Purple Hill, Archer's, Devitt's and Blackstock. The prizes were awarded as follows: 1st Purple Hill, 2nd Blackstock, 3rd Archer's and 4th Devitt's. The sing- ing was thoroughly enjoyed by all and much credit is due Miss Ward for her work in the schools during the past year, The June meeting of the W. On Sunday June 19th the annual Decoration Services are being held in Pine Grove Cemetery, starting at 2.30 p.m. The Board has asked that there be ho parking of cars inside the Cemetery grounds.
