The service was conducted by Rev. Mr. Lovelace of Manilla, assisted by Rev. Mr. Green of Seagrave. The Zion choir was in attendance and sang during the ser- vice. Byers on winning 1st and 2nd places respectively in the Grain and Seed Judging Contest held in Bowmanville on Friday, December 0th. Forty Junior Farmers, four from each of the ten central counties in the Province, contest at the Boys' Training School, sentatives R. S. Duncan and J. E. Whitlock, in charge. The judges were L. Johnston, Belleville, L. White, of A. R. Martin, Toronto, and E. P. Bradt of Bowmanville, Durham County boys carried off the honours with the following four boys being named as the winners, Oliver Smith and Murray Byers, Cartwright Township, Morris Baker, of Solina, and Elmer Gray, of Port Hope. After a two week's course at the Agricul- tural College, Guelph, these four winners will compete with sixteen other winners of the Western and Eastern Counties in a similar contest some time the first of the new year, when the four young men with the highest points will be selected to re- present the Province of Ontario at the World's Grain Show to be held at Regina, in 1938, where they will come up against the world's best Junior Farmer's judging teams.
