The next part was by the Mission Band in the form of a Missionary Playlet, the children being trained by Miss Hazel Jefffey and Miss Mary Small- man, This was a pleasing number and well done. Then followed a Var- iety Programme of Several numbers ending with a Play entitled "Christ- mas with the Mulligans." This part was under the direction of that ener- getic person Miss Gertrude Stovin, who was ably assisted by Mrs. R. T. Richards, Mrs. Stanley Ploughman and Miss ValDe Hortop. ANT A MA, THE ROYAL BANK LEAVES PORT PERRY - Following a policy of economy the Canadian Bank of Commerce and the Royal Bank of Canada have come to an agreement whereby each of these banks close a branch in certain 1 calitiés where the two banks are in operation. Port Perry is affected by this arrangement in an agreement by which Port Dover banking business is left to the Royal Bank; and the Can- adian Bank of Commerce retains the banking business in Port Perry. This arrangement will necessitate the closing of the Port Perry branch of the Royal Bank. Our townspeople will hear of this withdrawal of the Royal Bank with considerable regret. Mr. and Mrs. Henry have proved themselves to be excellent citizens, and many expres- sions of regret have been heard re- garding their prospective removal. Mr. Henry has been active in the Board of Education, the Agricultural Society, and other organizations for local welfare. He will be greatly missed in the Canadian Legion. Mrs. Henry has given delightful service in the music of church and town meetings, and has taken a keen interest in the work of the I. O. D. E. We shall miss both Mr. and Mrs. Henry very much. srdeann savers nsnerasnny [snnanls Consolidated Debt seas sen saan avenesnnann W.
