Rogers, Prince Albert The meeting of the Young People's Association held last Tuesday evening while not as well attended as usual owing possibly to the Christmas tree entertainment of the evening before, put on an interesting program under the direction of Mr. Murray Luke. After Miss Laird, the president, had opened the meeting she told the story of "The Other Wise Man" written by Henry Van Dyke and most suitable for a Christmas program. Then Mr. A. Harper, accompanied by Miss L. 'Murphy at the piano, rendered a har- monica solo. Miss Mabel Midgley sang a child's Christmas solo, "Away in a Manger." Mrs. Greaves took the topic, "What Christmas Means to Us." The men's chorus sang "Silent Night" and the program ended with Rev. Mr. Richards telling the Christmas story, written by Raymond Alden, of "Why the Chimes Rang Out" which was most interesting. Mr. and Mrs John Warren are home again after visiting with friends in Toronto and Oakville. Next Sunday after the preaching service, Communion service will be held. On Tuesday, December 20th, Mrs. Emma Marks passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. Wm. J. Toronto; Mr. John Marks, Seagrave, Mrs. Martyn, Prince Albert; Mrs. Rat- tenbury, De Kalle, Illinois; Mrs. Me- Chain RED & WHITE Stores and James Marks, of Lindsay; Mr. Arthur Marks, of Port Hope, and Mrs. Pridham, Toronto. In spite of the bad roads and inclement weather the fun- eral was largely attended, as Mrs. Marks was highly respected and be- loved by all who knew her. Rev. RB. T. Richards had charge of the service and he was assisted by Rev. Wesley Elliott, of Port Perry, a former pastor of Mrs, Marks and by Rev. Mr. Green, of Seagrave. Besides her nine child- ren, there are twenty-one grand-child- ren and seven great-grandchildren. We extend our sympathy to Mrs. Martyn and family in their great loss. Mr. McPherson, of Toronto, and Mr. George McPherson and Miss A. McPherson, also Mr. and Mrs. Prid- ham, and son Kenneth, of Toronto, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Martyn. Mrs. McPherson, sister of Mrs, Martyn, has been staying with Mrs. Martyn for some time owing to the illness of their mother, Mrs. Marks. We are sorry to report Miss S. Tewkesbury again on the sick list. Christmas weather this year was delightful, being some fourteen de- grees higher than the warmest record 80 we are told. Some kept Sunday as the Christmas anniversary, others gathered on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. J. T.
