ZION The funeral of the late Mrs. James, Mrs. Barnsley, of Lindsay, was held] who passed away early Thursday morning at the home of her daughter Mrs. Barnsley, of Lindsay, was held on Friday afternoon. The service was held at the home of Mrs. Barnsley, and interment took place at Zion Cemetery, Mariposa. The Pall-bearers were Messrs. Miss Ruby Kerr entertained the school section to a Christmas Concert at the school, on Thursday afternoon. The program was well given, and con- sisted of exercises, songs, recitations and dialogues. At the close of the pro- gram, Santa Claus entered the school- room and delivered the presents to the children. The program closed by the use of God Save the King. Miss Ruby Kerr, is spending the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Kerr, of Glandine. The Zion people welcomed Mrs. N. Osborne and family into our commun- ity in the form of a surprise party, on Monday evening. Mr, and Mrs. Os- borne were greeted with some music from tin cans, etc.,for a few minutes after which Mr. Osborne invited the people inside. The evening was spent ifi-music, and playing cards. About 11 o'clock lunch was served, after which everyone found their way. to their respective homes. Miss Gertrude McFarland is holiday- ing at her home in Fenelon Falls. The annual Sunday School Christ- mas Tree and Concert was held on Friday evening and was well attended. The program consisted of choruses by the children, dialogues, recitations, duets, drills and exercises.
