My experience includes 18 years of farm business Board, rode of Adjustment, Board of Health, and Chamber of Commerce. More recently, as your full-time Mayor with over 20 years of municipal experience as Councillor and School Board Trustee plus some 35 years as a successful businessman in Scugog. | believe | have gained the much needed experience in dealing with people; the ability to listen to your concerns; and yes, to recognize the need for compromise when it is in the best interest of the people 1 serve, Taxes must be kept fair but continue meet the Needs of our people. The environment and good farmland must be _ protected. Also, I have recently completed university courses in economics, business administratiog, political science, and English. These activities have all increased my ability w serve you the voter. I have enjoyed the challenge of the past three years as Ward IV Councillor and look forward 10 the chance 10 represent Scugog Citizens again at the local and regional levels of government. I have talked 10 many residents of Scugog in recent weeks during my travels into all Wards of the Township. Listening to your comments has made me more aware of your ct throughout the Township. Scugog's next or a a leader, but also a listener in order 10 understand the concerns of the citizens. Principal movements for change in a democratic society start from the people's level, but the change is ultimately accomplished from the top. Scugog needs "Leadership that Listens" 10 effect the changes that you want. Fellow taxpayers, | feel that I can offer you "Leadership with a Difference". Lets take hold of the 90's and build Scugog Township together, starting November 12, 1991. 1 have the time, energy and determination to be an effective and responsible Mayor. Please give your utmost consideration to Malcolm for Mayor. Glenn with his wife Arlene and daughters Heather, Erin and Alison, CONCERNS: 1) Quality of Life in Scugog and preservation of our unique surroundings for future generations. 2) Tax increases must be minimized by delaying large capital projects; and by responsive budgeting (allocate budget + funds based on merit and not on past expenditures). 3) Job creation - Glenn envisions the need for a new "Jobs Initiative Committee to develop a strategy and promote Scugog Township's attractiveness. 4)-Public Input - co-operation vs. confrontation between council and citizens is important. 5) Envirofiment - policies are needed that increase the availability of the 3-R Program, conservation of finite resources and gradual development that protects our environment.
