IN CLOSING.....I spent a most enjoyable Saturday evening recently with members of the XL Eagles fastball team as they cele- brated their championship season. The party was hosted by team sponsors Ken and Carol Irvine and there was no shortage of good things to eat and drink. The Eagles won the Ontario Intermediate C fastball champi- onship in September. And the way they won it was one of the finest moments in spoyt I've ever witnessed. Not only did Ken and Carol host the party, they presented team members with handsome, engraved wall clocks that com- memorate the. championship. A very nice touch. I speak for myself and for all connected with this marvellous team in saying to Ken and Carol, "thanks for a great night." Nursing Home news By Wendy Clark Well, we're intoganother great month.
