If you feel like bringing me a sample, I'd be more than happy to wolf ut down for you Ye Olde English Madeira Cake Preheat oven to 328 degrees F Baking time | hour (approyimaic) Ingredients V4 cup butter, room tem- perature 1 cup fine fruit sugar § eggs, room temperature Grated peel of 1/2 lemon 2 V4 cups Nour 1 tsp baking powder Pinch cifhamon Pinch mace (optional) Pinch salt 174 cup Sweet Malmsey Madeira wine (or 1/4 cup milk may be used instead) Sur five dry ingredients (not sugar) in a bowl With electric mixer, beat butter and sugar thoroughly until very light and fluffy. Add eggs onc at a ume, beating well after cach one, making sure no egg residue remains unblended. Then beat in lemon peel With spoon, gently stir in mixed dry ingredients, aliermating with madeira wine until well mixed. Pour soft batter ino 7 12° X 3 1227 round, greased pan (or equivalent). Dust batter wath frust sugar.
