What began in 1957 as a one-day event has blossomed intd"a ten-day musical extravaganza, featuring some 1250 participants in 157 different piano, vocal and instrumental classes. The festival begins Feb. 17. As usual, a large contingent of musicians from the Scugog Township area will be participat- ing this yeqr including several school choirs and bands. Adjudicating the piano classes is Ms. Jacqueline Ryz of London, Ont. She received her ARCT in performance from the Royal Conservatory in Toronto and her Bachelor of Arts in music from the University of Winnipeg. Later, she received a Master of Music, performance, from McGill, where she studied with professor Charles Reiner. Ms. Ryz is currently a member of the piano faculty at Western Ontario Conservatory of Music and is active as an adjudi- cator, performer, accompanist and teacher.
