Marlene Russell has brought creative energy and warmth to the Bahai community, to Scugog Women, and many y, Othe groups. Doris Taylor has dédicated much of her life to the Cancer Society. Gail Sheridan is the enthusias- tic curator at Scugog Shores Historical Museum. Judy Smith devotes many hours to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Norma Van Camp may not be centre stage, but her behind the scenes work is integral to the suc- cess of the Borelians. Suzanne White travelled from Western Canada to Port Perry and brought along real inspiration for Scugog Memorial Public Library. LLL Speaking of strong women, there is one woman in Caesarea who is now being forced to be strong. Patti Fidler lost her husband, Paul, in a snowmobile accident Saturday morning. This tragedy has left Patti alone to raise Kirstie Lee and Kevin, and my thoughts are with her as she faces what must be the biggest challenge of her life. Single moms may not have a high profile in the community, but they struggle through daily life for the sake of their children, making sacrifices, trying their very best to provide a goed home. In this 'Week of Celebration', take a few moments to celebrate these women, because they are the quiet heroines of our community. * Best of luck, Patti. Time to celebrate 'Women of Scugog, it's time to celebrate! 'Women of all ages, occupations and cultural are taking a full week, March 2 10 7, to cele- brate International Women's Day, on March 8.
