Men's league The playoff standings have tightened up as the Scugog Mens Hockey League completed four more game Sunday moming. The opener was a bit of a lop- sided affair as J and D Carpentry "hammered" Compton Cable by a 9-4 score. Gary Lance had three goals and one assist for the win- tightens up out. Game three was a tighter checking affair as Sportsland sur- prised Crandells with a 4-1 victory. Ken Little, Brian Callery, Bill Bridge and Tom Patton did the damage for Sportsland with Ivan Geer setting up three goals, Mike McQuade two. Single assists went to Doug Bache and Dave ners, with Reid Br 1l getting a pair and an assist. Brian Cowie had a goal and three helpers with Joe Curran netting one with two assists as well. Fred Moffatt and Todd Wilbur rounded out the scoring. Bob Lee had two assists with sin- gles to Dennis Lycett, Dave Milton, Terry Flieler and Moffatt. For the Cable gang, Jim Duncan, Larry Page, Bill Van Camp and Rick Hope did the scoring. Duncan had two assists with one each to Hope, Russ Connelly, Doug Scott, Jim Beatty and Ed Olsen. Game two was also a one-sided event with Fitzgerald's defeating Van and Truck World 6-0. Rob Evans had two with two assists. Carl Fitzgerald had a goal and three assists. Other marksmen were Doug Bronson and Ken Smart each with a goal and assist and Henry Forderer with the single marker. Paul Van Camp and Bart Wager had two helpers each and Ken geois. For Crandells, the lone marker came from the stick of Richie Lefort with John Robertson and Rob Kroonenberg setting up the play. The Port Perry Figure Skating Club is getting ready to EXPLODE with colour. The paint palettes are ready to show you the true colours in Skatefest '92, a kaleidoscope on ice at the Scugog Arena for two glittering shows April 10 and 11. The show gets underway both evenings at 7:30 PM with tickets ilable at the door ing at 6:00 PM. Skating Club president Sue Scholfield says this year the theme is colour, and the skaters have been working extremely hard to show off their skills attained through the Canskate Badge She said 113 skaters have completed the requirements for at least two badges this season. At SKATEFEST 92, specta- tors can expect a marvellous evening of entertainment filled with colour, snappy routines on ice to some great music like Yellow Submarine, Bleu Suede Shoes, Green Alligators and Great Balls of Fire. Ms. Scholfield said the Club is delighted to announce that five CANSKATE skaters have passed the proficiency level. They are Jodi May, Melissa Meeking, Ashely Sauder, Krystal Simon and Lindsay Wilson. In addition to the all the rou- tines and programs by members of the Port Perry Club, SKATE- FEST, some outstanding guest skaters will perform for your pleasure. Roy Fowler and Kathy Taylor are working on their gold dance at the Junior Level. And the Canadian Novice Precision Ice Angels from Whitby will be there for both shows. The show will open with a special salute to Canada's 125th birthday by senior skaters. And each will perform solo as well Andersons eked out a narrow 2-1 win over Nortons. Rick Sheehey from Bill Haynes and Joe McIntyre got one for Andersons, then it was McIntyre from Ron Zaparanuik.
