McClelland The hockey season came to an end for the Port Perry MoJacks Saturday evening in the Stayner Community Centre as they were knocked out of the playoffs four games to one by the powerful Stayner Siskins. The Siskins, who have lost but one game on home ice all season, jumped into an early lead in Saturday's deciding game and emerged with a 7-2 victory that will put them into the all-Ontario Junior C finals against either Belle River or Dundas. Belle River leads the series three games to two. The Siskins wasted little time in front of their partisan home town fans as they clicked twice on the power play to open a 4-0 lead after the first period. Sebastien Bronsard opened the scoring at 5:43 with a shot te the glove side on Marc Dekker in the MoJack cage. Scott Kelly upped the margin to 2-0 at 13:14 off a back-hand from right in front of Dekker and just over a minute later Scott Pendleton moved in alone to score on the back-hand and it was 3-0 for the Birds. The Siskins were in high gear and scored their fourth goal on the power play at 16:21 as Bill Gourley finished off a nifty three- out. Does the run count? Bases loaded, two out. Booming shot ripped down third baseline booted by third baseman. Third sacker recovers ball in time to hang up runner between second and third. Runner from third scores easily before runner from second tagged way passing play from Bronsard and Steve Walker. MoJacks finally found a spark of life carly in the second period on the power play when Jim Vernon stuffed one behind Kevin Crotty from the side of the cage with Brad Menzies and Trevor McIntyre drawing the assists. But the Siskins, as they did almost all series, snuffed out the MoJacks momentum with a goal 23 seconds later. And it was Walker who did the damage tap- ping home a rebound. Walker (No. 25) who has all kinds of tal- ent, was a one-man wrecking crew this series. Jason Livingstone was in the right place at the right time to net the 6th Siskin goal at 9:23 as Dekker came well out of his crease in an attempt to smother a loose puck. But the disc squirted under his glove and Livingstone just shovelled the puck into the vacant net. Livingstone made it 7-1 early in the third on a breakaway, caich- ing Dekker off balance with a shot through the pads. The final goal of the game and the season for the MoJacks came at the mid-point as Paul Wilkins was set up in the slot for a quick shot with Menzies and Peter Young getting the assists.
