MoJacks out of the playoffs FROM PAGE 19 FINAL SLAP-SHOTS: The Sisking mastery of the MoJacks on home ice proved to be an enor- mous factor in this all-Ontario semi-final series. In three games in Stayner, the Siskins netted 23 goals while holding the MoJacks to just four. And game two in Port Perry in which the Siskins rallied late in the third period for a 7-5 win and 2-0 lead in games certain- ly gave Stayner a big lift. Siskins coach Tom Dickey said after Saturday's game the play of his specialty teams was probably the difference in the series. The Siskins scored 20 times in five game with a man advantage. Dickey said the team didn't start to work on the power play until the playoffs. "It's just naturally strong," he stated. And Dickey said the work of netminder Kevin Crotty was superb in the series. He added that game two in Port Perry (the come- from-behind 7-5 Siskins win) "really hurt the MoJacks. They played well enough to deserve a FORDER - win in that one." As for the game MoJacks won in this series (6-3 on home ic) Dickey said they were full marks for it. "They took it to us," he said. Saturday's game was a physi- cal one for two periods, and then both teams showed a lot of restraint in the final frame that ended with hand-shakes all around. While the MoJacks would dearly have liked to advance to the Ontario finals in this their 20th anniversary season, the team pro- vided Junior C fans with plenty of memorable moments, including a first place finish, a league champi- onship and a victory in the all-star ec. Personally, I want to say in closing that this team was a plea- sure to watch all year, a "class act," and a tribute to the executive and the coaching staff of Ken Harman and Garnet Warriner. In the end) they lost to a stronger club and there is no shame in that.
