Everything about her was big -- she was tall, her shoulders were broad, her face was wide. Yet she wasn't fat. Just solid. Strong. And her smile...it was her match in every way. Wide and warm and welcoming. | don't know her, but judging by that smile, I suspect her heart was as big as the rest of her. There is a book on my desk, a black book omately designed with gold diamonds, flowers and one word, 'PHOTOGRAPHS'. The album is stuffed with black and white snapshots, most of them old and faded, but only a few are iden- tified and even those are done so casually, without last names. | am fascinated by the woman whose strong face is predominant in the album. Julie believes they had both belonged to the same lighting reveals clear, glowing skin and a smile that can only be described as serene. Still later, ber smile is as wide as ever, but she is slimmer, almost skinny. She sits on a lawn chair in a garden, her husband stands behind her. They are surrounded by three children, two girls and a boy. And a dog, panting, out-of- focus in the f As a senior citizen, she is still person, at one time or another.
