Surprised by The Hand That Rocks The - watch The Sound of Music, or Cradle some other cavity causer. Now available on video. Anyway, The Hand That Directed by Curtis Hanson. Rocks The Cradle was a superior} I have to admit, this not. Another of those] deadly nanny movies that wind up as a slasher flick was what I thought I was thriller chilling performance as Peyton, a troubled young widow unable to have chil- in for. But hey, you have to -- ize how many movies my poor wife struggles through without a peep, so when she asked me to get The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, I obliged. I always figure it could be worse, she could 'ask me to thriller; well acted, nicely direct- ed, and subtly fri ing all way through. It turned out to be much more than a sinister nanny movie -- this nanny was out and out deadly. Rebecca DeMornay gives a Peyton" s husband with sexual assault, causing the man to kill himself. Thus, posing as a loving nanny, Peyton moves into the couple's home, and slowly takes control of their lives. To say what she does and how she does it HS WEEKS TOPS C2 1. The cast, largely unknowns, do a fine job in their roles, but spe- cial attention must be paid to * Ernie Hudson's Solomon, and Annabella Sciorra's terrified but tqugh Clare. The Hand That Rocks The Cradle is not a blood and guts thriller, but rather a type of horror that hits closer to home; allowing a monster into your home and not even suspecting you've done something terrible. Township officials discovered the building does not have an interior sprinkler system. Dave Sandison, one of the four operators of the weekend market said he and his partners will install a double brick block interi- or fire wall as required, and that should allow them to set up ven- dor tables inside the former Zoecon building on the south side of Highway 7A, just west of the Port Perry village limits. "We plan to be here for a long time. And you can quote me on that," Mr. Sandison said as he stood beside the busy highway to make sure cars parked on the rather than on the shoul- der of the road. He learned last Thursday after- noon that the Township would not let them open in the building due to the lack of a sprinkler sys- tem. That forced them to scramble around to rent a large canopy which was set up outside for the vendors. He said a lot of people arrived at the Market Saturday morning to have a look, and several ven- dors said sales were brisk. Mr. Sandison said he was more than pleased with the num- ber of people who stopped at the Market on Saturday. "It was real- ly overwhelming, a lot of people from out of town."
