MINI SOCCER REPORT Wow, some of those mini soccer "players must have been watching the Olympics last week! The tricks they learned led Subby's Subfharine to a 4- 1 victory over Nuts About Chocolate. Gold medals go out to all players with special awards to Danny Halward for a hat trick, and Brittany Hosey with one goal. Spectacular offensive plays by Robert Mark rounded out this beautiful game for Subby's. For Nuts, Marie Gedge scored their lone marker, and Brent Meeking made some good breakaways. Kyle Geer gave the gold medal performance for Re/Max Realty in their game against F.A. Slinger Transport, earning his first hat trick. Also scoring for Re/Max were Daniel Bois and John Tanti. The Slinger team played a vigorous game, with an excellent effort from Emily Davis, and strong support from Jake Pilkey The Framer's Gallery was success- Call the Scugog Citizen for Service Directory Rates for 3 Month Terms EERE AA Tul in a bid against Techniq Drywall, winning 3-0. Derek Goreski scored two goals, making some very impressive dekes, and Matthew Roth scofed one. Fine goaltending from Melissa Nagy and Adam Batchelor preserved the shut-out, with good sup- port from the entire team. The Technique "Pigers' made a fine defen- sive effort, particularly Tara Hutchins, and Howie Gordon, who provided solid goal-tending. Katelyn May and James Hobbs showed improvement in their kicking ability. Scugog Lumber defeated Fowler, Davies by a big 6-0. However, despite the loss, Brook Mackenzie and Celine Batterink were looking good for the lawyers. SQUIRT SOCCER REPORT In squirt soccer last week, the only two undefeated teams met for a show- down. The Port Perry Auto Glass 'Stingrays' met up with Rent & Save/Cinemax, and it was the Stingrays who triumphed, 8-2. Matthew Kamminga continued to dominate the offense with four goals, and Spencer Churchill had two. Special congr 80 to Laura coaching staff continues to see B ink and Tony B who each earned their first goal of the sea- son! Jennifer VanderMeulen and Lori Powell also played well in their for- ward positions. Zach ither provided effective defense and Thomas Lee was excellent in net. Justin Moffat of the Cinemax team was held to only one goal this game, and Timothy Motuzas. scored as well. Stephanie and Melissa Mulder were strong on defense. Evan Powell and Trevor Chandler were kept busy in net, and made many more stops than they let in; and Adam Peacock, Josh Sobil and Brady Gray kept the pressure on with good play. The game between Raglan Welding and Port Perry IGA was moving with energy from both sides. The IGA team put in a vigorous effort against the very powerful Raglan Welding team, who were successful by a 5-0 score. Excellent efforts by Leah Zochodne, Jordan Beelby, Erik Hertzberg, Hilary Gibson, Teddy Howarth and Kevin Robbins, led to the win, as these five players played the entire game with no subs! IGA's in their team's ability to play their positions and make some nice passing plays, resulting in some . near goals. Steven Williams and Erin Edwards played well in both offensive and defensive roles, and Christopher Wood made many fine stops as goalie in the second half. Darlene Colton Photography had a fantastic game against the Lions Club, winning 8-1. Justin Shinn scored a hat trick, Stacey Cunningham and Nicholas Byers each notched two, and James Colton rounded out the scoring with one goal, despite playing much of the game in net. Timothy Donohue and Marta Van Camp made several key passes, and both Rebecca Aked and Julie-Ann Domik had many good chances. Andrea Tindall got the lone marker for the Lions Club. * Haugen's Chicken Barbecue played a very strong game against Manvers 1, with goals being scored by Matthew Sutherland, Lindsay Carr and Peter Konstantinopolous. Alex McKay made lots of stops in net and the rest of the team played splendidly. Stephen Stiner got Manvers only goal. Trader Sam's showed continued improvement in their ability in last week's game by defeating Flieler's Petro Can 6-0. Katie Bierness had two goals, Sam Chiusolo had one, and Clayton Gilmore pulled off a hat trick. Excellent effort by Molly Sprague and great goaltending by Luke Pilkey and Rob Larmer helped to keep Flicler's in check. Great game guys and gals! Manvers 2 just edged out Brian's Towing for a 4-3 victory. At the end of the first half it was 2-1 for Manvers with two goals by Chase Charland, and one by Trevor Lance. Brandon Spearing made some good defensive moves and Danielle Hill worked hard to keep it out of Manver's end. Jessie Worden also put in a strong effort. Trevor Lance tied the game early in the second half, but his goal was answered by one by Ashley Notenboom. Trevor also scored the third goal for Brian's, but Chase Charland"got the winning goal for Manvers.
