Gamblers and Winslow-Gerolamy \deadlocked at one game a-piece The Greenbank Gamblers knew théy would be in a tough, hard-fought series when they hooked up with Winslow-Gerolamy Motors for the championship in the Peterborough and District Senior Fastball League. And they were right on the money as the Gamblers and WG are deadlocked at one game each in this best of seven final heading into game three last night (Sept. 8) at the Peterborough Bowl. The weather has been a factor in this series to date (what else is new this "summer") as two games have already been postponed due to rain and wet grounds. In the series opener, W-G doubled the Gamblers 4-2 as pitcher Glen Crowe held the Gamblers to just four hits while Mark Goreski yielded nine hits on the mound for Gamblers. The W-G scoring came from the bat of designated player John Harrison who touched Goreski for two home runs in this one. Greenbank mounted a rally in the 7th inning when Don Beaton reached on an infield error and then scored on Paul Goreski's double. Rod Real then cashed in Goreski with a single, but Crowe worked hard to strike out the always dangerous Pete Dosterholt to put a cap on the match. In game two, Goreski was at his best as he led Gamblers to a 2-1 extra inning victory that tied the series at one game each. Peterborough scored first as Randy Fife plated Kevin Terrion with a two-out double in the third but Greenbank tied the game in the 4th when Beaton brought home Brian Mud Bog results Here are the results from the Mud Bog competitions held last month at the Janetville Off Road Jamboree. The game remained scoreless until the 8th inning when Greg Newell settled things with a mammoth home run that left the Bowl and gave Greenbank the 2-1 lead. The team settled in during W- G's final at bat in the bottom of the 8th with some great defense that retired the side in order. Goreski fanned six and yielded just six scattered hits.
