For the 25 young ladies (ages nine to 16) from Port' Perry and area who are the Northern Explosion Choir, it was a night filled with emotion as they performed for the last time with Donny [o] d in the hit ical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour. Dreamcoat" at Toronto's Elgin Theatre. _ "It has been just the best night of my life and the worst night of my life," was the way one summed up her feelings. But it was back-stage at the Elgin after the final curtain call where the emotions really poured out as the girls said farewell to Donny, the rest of the cast, and their singing counterparts from Bayview Glen, the choir that performed with Explosion all summer. When they finally left the theatre via the stage door, the hour was late #hd many still had tears in their eyes as they boarded the school bus (for the last time as well) that had taken them back and forth to Toronto all summer. Back home in Port Perry, the girls were treated to a special closing night party with their parents, thanks to Emiel and Cathy Krooneberg who graciously kept the "Back Room" open at Emiel's Place for the occasion. The media reviews were mixed, but audiences loved it as "Dreamcoat" played to full houses, The show ended its Toronto summer run on Saturday evening and the cast will move on to Minneapolis before returning to Toronto for a second run in mid- December.
