Penalties were a problem and definitely played a part in preventing a win in this game. Game #2 was our home game against Whitby. The-boys all looked great as they arrived in shirts and ties for this one but looks are deceiving. Again they were. plagued by numerous penalties, a sharp goalie and no luck at all. Port was defeated 6 to 1. Our lone goal was scored by Jay King, assisted by lan Shrigley. For game #3 we travelled to meet Uxbridge an old rival. At last it was Port's turn to shine. The Bantam #1 team skated and shot their way to a 7 to 1 victory over Uxbridge. Persistence around the net, good team work and only six penalty minites for the whole game paid off. (Surprising what happens when five players are on the ice!) Scoring for Port in this game was Jay King with 2 goals and 2 assists, Jeremy Geer 2 goals, lan Shrigley 2 goals and Craig Laird with 1 goal and 1 assist. Also earning one assist each was Jason Logan and Daryl Bourgeois. Good work boys, let's stay in this mode as we head for 'Whitby on Monday night. IGA Juniors start new season The IGA Junior B team started a new year of competition October 23. Coach Tom Patton, Assistant Coach Debbie Storms and Manager Nancy Coyne iced a team against Ajax at the Pickering Village Arena. A valiant effort was displayed by each member of the team but after two periods of play the final, score was Ajax 4, Port Perry 2. Had it not been for the excellent play of Melissa Pereman, our goal tender, the goal spread would have been greater. Offensively, Sarah Coyne had 2 goals and Kelly Brooks had an assist.
