Sharks chomp the Hawks 1-0 Hold the presses! Last week it was reported that the Comet goaltender, Don Card, did not secure the shutout when indeed this fine "youngster" did receive the top honors in the sweater controversy. Apologies are extended to the Card clan and especially mother, N Card! Now onto this week's action in the aftermath of local Halloween events. Game 1 had the Pineridge Phantoms dominating the Fitzgerald's Clippers 4-0. Troy Glacier gained the shutout as Brownell, Olaisen, Bridge and Todd Wilbur rounded out the scoring attack. Phantom's assists went to Wilbur and Doug Bronson with 2 each and Bridge, Kinnunen and Milton to secure the victory. Ken Harman in the Clippers net played well to keep the final outcome respectable! The Clippers will return! Tension mounted as the first place Hawks took on the Adam and company "Sharks." These so-called Minnows, without the services of "Tate" Adam, rose to the challenge to defeat the Hawks 1-0 in an exciting game! The lone Shark tally was by Rick "Electric Man' Campbell from Beveridge and Ashbridge. The spectators were not disappointed in this electrifying game! Game 3 proved to be a scorers nightmare as those Crandell's Gamblers without the services of "Thin Man" Bryan Norton, crushed the Taylor Aces 10-2. Aces, with the support of Geni Taylor and Kenny Little just couldn't extinguish the Gambler's attack. Gambler scorers were MIlligan, Evans and Fewer with 2 each followed by singles from Dale Bronson, Jeffrey Churchill and Donevan Smith. Assists went to Darcy Milligan 3, Evans, Jeffrey and Fewer with 2 each and singles to Randell, Ray Zapananuik, Churchill, Samis, Dale Bronson and John Delorme to round out this awesome attack. For the Taylor Fuel "Aces" it was McIntyre from Dwayne Bronson and the Wayne "Sponsor" Taylor from Robertson and Moffatt to finish the scoring summary. There were a few comments about the return of Kenny Little from the "Sunny South" but no one paid attention!! Game 4 saw the best action of the day as the high flying Comets faced off against the Harrison flame throwing "Blazers." These Comets for the third week in a row proved to be too hot to handle for the "Harrison Gang" as they provided a 3-1 defeat. Don Card was all smiles as Thomson from Harrison and Compton followed by Dickson from Bruce Smith and Dickson again from Smith and goaltender "Ears" Card, iced the victory. Replying for the "Oil Burner" Blazers was Suppelsa from Dave "Flame" Harrison and Davidson. The aftermath of the Jays victory has led to exciting action in the S.H.L. Be sure to join in on the extravaganza each Sunday morning! Admission is free!! Come fin in the S.H.L. action and cheer on your favorites.
