¥ wp 10--Bcugog Citizen -- Tuesday , November 10, 1008 - Lest we forget: 1914 - 1918; 1939 - 1945; 1950 - 1953 wl | Remembrance Day Service at Branch 419 REMEMBRANCE DAY WED., NOV. 11TH, 1992 Why I Wear APoppy I wear a poppy on Remembrance Day And go to church to praise and pray For the soldiers, sailors and airmen too Who fought in the war for me and for you. I wear a poppy bright and red To remind me of the alive and the dead They went to war across the sea To keep our country, Canada, free. I wear a poppy when bugles sound And all the people gather round To honour all the soldiers brave Some alive and some in graves. I wear a poppy I'm proud to say On November 11th, Remembrance Day For women sent husbands and sons To fight in the war with rifles and guns. So wear your poppy red with pride And never forget the men who died And thank our God that we are free Because someone fought for you and for me. TAKE TIME TO REMEMBER THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION Howard Bailey, November 1977
