0-- Scugog ~ Tuesday, January 19, 1993 a Van Camp downs Kelly in Blackstock Curling Keith Van Camp stepped onto the sheet for the first time this year and handed Gerald Kelly an 11-3 loss in Blackstock Mens Curling action Jan. 11. Keith had stepped in for the vacationing Merlin Suggitt and ended up with a powerhouse team. Gerald, on the other hand, had lost some players due to illness and had less experience on the front end However, if we know Gerald, this won't stop back next time Richard Van Camp dieseled back from what looked like a lost cause in his match against Cam Porter. Cam looked like he had it won for fun until Richard struck for four in the 7th. This followed a five-ender that Cam had stolen in the previous end. Richard had a chance in the 8th to pull off the win, but ended up with only one to suffer and 9-7 loss We had quite a few new players and will be getting a six-team draw under way in the next couple of weeks or as soon as the vacationers and those down with the flu return to action. The high school got going with a couple of games this week.
