B & R drew first blood early on in the second period after the first had gone scoreless on a goal by Brian Pomeroy from Tim Ashbridge. . Woody's made it even as Wayne Tate scored from Bruce Woodrow with over ten minutes to play in the regulation time. In the overtime there was but the one tally as Woodrow drew a second assist .on the goal by Charlie Dennis. Brad Maarse also drew a point on an assist as well. In the second game, the Blackstock Brewers came out on top of a 2-0 score over Monsma Electric. The first goal came with just 51 seconds to play in the opening frame when Ron Short fired it in from Scott MacLennan. This held up until just about midway through the second when MacLennan notched one from Kevin Grieve. Rick McLean earned the shutout for Blackstock . Next week's games go with Blackstock and Monsma squaring off at 4:00, followed at 5:00 by Woody's and B & R. In Cannington on Sunddy afternoon the ladies Merchant Team were eliminated from further play as they went down . to defeat at the hands of the rookies by a 2-1 count. The lone tally came from the broom of Joyce Parkinson from Janet Joncas and Michelle Andrews. A number of local players will be travelling to the Barrie area this upcoming weekend to participate in the provincial playdowns. - Blackstock Brewers earned first place honours in the Port Perry Broomball League with a record of 14 wins, 3 losses and 3 ties. Tweens enjoy weekend The Port Pineridge Tweens travelled to Waterloo this weekend to compete in their second tournament of the year. The girls and parents had a very good time at the hotel using all the facilities.
