From page 8 berms, trees and fences, how does this project, hope to shield the many homes which sit high atop the surrounding ridges? And how does this project propaese to - protect neighbouring properties from all of the dust, noise and light pollution which will result from the gouging and scraping proposed atop the 140' high drumlin located on the property (known as Blue Mountain and can be seen from several miles in all directions)? Why is this kind of heavy industrial development being plunked into thé middle of a Class 1 wetland that is surrounded by residential and fertile farmland properties when a much more suitable piece of property must exist in Scugog Township? . Finally, for hundreds of years the Marsh of Marsh Hill has sat untouched to feed and nourish the surrounding land, filter water, provide a safe haven for thousands of birds, animals and fish-why does council feel they have the power to decide to irreversibly destroy all of this magnificence in favour of a project which is of no benefit to anyone? Yet another example of the precious little service we get for_our high taxes. In the four years that I have lived here in Scugog Township, 1 have yet to see a politician at my door or even driving through the area. I'd like to take this opportunity to personally invite each and every member of council to venture out of Port Perry and cross into the far north- western reaches of Scugog Township, to stand on my property for a birds-eye view of what it is they are planning to destroy. I think that trading the splendor of a Class 1 Wetland for a school for bulldozer drivers is hardly a fair or even remotely sensible trade. Hey council, give your collective heads a shake!
