Awards night for SHL individuals The Scugog Hockey League (SHL) came to a nice conclusion recently with the Annual Awards Night at the Latcham Centre. Despite some competition from the Leafs on the tube, an enthusiastic group of players and guests was Jrevent to salute the league's finest. Perrenial scoring champ Bill Bridge once again took the award for thg"most points, but this seasofi he had tough cempetitidn from Bill Van Camp who finished just a single point behind. Kens Harman of the Fitzgerald Clippers won the Gopltender's trophy for the sefond straight year. This was an interesting category with many of the players in the race right down to the final game. EXPANSION UP-DATE; With the re-alignment of ice time by the Scugog Arena Board, the SHL executive is pleased to announce that two more teams will be added to start the 1993-94 season. Players will be registered from the waiting list and entered into the September draft when the new teams are selected Games will continue to be three periods of ten-minute stop time as in the past, but more efficient use of the ice time will be in effect to insure the five games make the use of recreational time for Scugog residents. League members who have yet to register should look after this as soon as possible since the executive will be busy putting the final touches on the expansion to maintain the excellence that started 12 years ago. In closing, just a reminder that the annual Port Perry Auto Glass Hockey-Ball tournament goes this weekend (May 28-29) This is the final end to the hockey season as team members look forward to showing off their slo-pitch skills. Players should check with team reps concerning game times on Friday May 28.
