Oshawa Fair coming up The South Ontario Agricultural Society is proud to present the 16th annual Oshawa Whitby Fair. The fair is approximately 130 years old from it's inception and moved from Whitby in 1921 to Alexandra Park in Oshawa where it enjoyed much success until 1974. The Exhibition then moved to its present location on Garrard Rd. Just North of Conlin. It is now appropri- ately called the Oshawa Whitby Fair, July 22-25. Thursday evening brings us our ever popular Demolition Derby and Friday night sees the opening of Junior, Domestic and Horticultural Exhibits and of course the Gigantic Truck Pull, run so well by Archie Johnston. Saturday features the Saddle and Heavy Horse Shows also the Horse Pull at 5pm. We will be bringing you new this year a Laser Karaoke night with Mike Preston, so be sure to bring a friend and rock to the laser videos, you can be the STAR! Mike will entertain you, try singing as a group or record your own song, Please plan to join us! Moms and Dads, bring your baby to our Saturday a.m. baby show, prizes for all. There will be classes for boys and girls from 0-24 months and classes for twins and triplets as well. The winners will receive a trophy and there will be a ribbon for every baby. At 1 p.m. the Monster Mud Bog starts. Come see the trucks push their way through the mud. The Demolition Derby Semi Finals will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday the last but not least day of Fair will see us display the 6th annual car show from 10 a. m. until 4 p.m.. Jack Heib the car show manager can always be counted on for a super presentation. Don't Forget the Pet Contest 'and Show at 1 p.m., bring then all, pigs, cats dogs, «chickens etc. Just make sure they are on a leash. This event is a treat to watch. The sheep and Light Horse shows will be going on a swell for those who are interested.
