Game 1 was a heated affair with the Crandell's Gamblers outlasting the Van World Sharks for a 5-4 victory. The Gamblers scored the first 3 goals before the see-saw battle began that featured a physical third period. Dave Bourgeois had the Gambler "Hat-trick® with singles to Phil Cochrane and Mark Jobb. Ken Jeffrey had 3 assists with Don Hockley and Jobb picking up 1 each. The shark frenzy was led by Jay "Baby-tate" Adam with a pair and singles from Steve Churchill and Harvey Williams, Peter Lane and Churchill and Harvey Williams. Peter Lane and Churchill both had 2 assists with singles to Williams, Lefort, Fox and Olaisen. Game 2 was also a close game as the Compton Comets handed the J & D Hawks a 3-1 defeat After a scoreless first period the Comets struck early in the second or. a goal by Todd Wilbur from Doug Bache and Mike Kane. The game then featured some good end-to-end action by both teams with the final Blazer goal coming with under 2 minutes remaining to end in the league's first tie game of the season Blazer goals came from Scett Davis, John Robertson, Jahn MacKey and Rick Campbell Brian Burns and Campbell had sn assist each as this 4-4 tie gave the Blazers their first point of this young season. The Clippers had markers from Rick Hope, Fred Moffatt, Dave Dickson and Tom Barnes. Hope was in for 2 assists with singles to Moffatt, Jim Park and Senartie Sr In Game 5 the Pizza Delight Devils pulled the plug on the short-staffed Monsma Electric Chargers. This game featured penalty-free match as the Devils romped to & 7-3 victory.
