Garry Geer, Ed Teno, Warren Geer and Ralph McCullough make up the coac staff. The Port Perry Legionaires opened league play hosting a strong Belleville team. Port started fast and opened up a three goal lead in the first period with Danny Lyons scoring from Jan Parliament and Scott Jeffrey, Adam Jones assisted by Troy Campbell and | Jeff Ashton, and Brett Clouthier from Casey vanSchagen. - Belleville scored:the only-goal in the second narrowing the lead to 3-1. In the third period Belleville scored quickly on a power play and at the six minute mark tied the score. With 58 seconds left Belleville took the lead, but Port, not to be outdone, pulled the goalie for an extra attacker and with 21 seconds left Seth Gray tied the game assisted by Scott Jeffrey. For the second league game, Port travelled to Uxbridge and. came home with a 6-5 win. - Scoring for Port were lan Parliament with two, Scott Jeffrey with 2, Seth Gray and Derek Tindall. Assists went to Adam Jones (3), Casey vanSchagen (2), Scott Jeffrey, Jeff Ashton, Wyatt park and Danny Lyons. Scoring for Port were Derek (2), Scott, Seth, Adam Jones, Danny and Wyatt. Assists went to Seth (2), Jeff, Derek, Casey (2) and Wyatt. On October 29 Port hosted the Oshawa Canadians in an exhibition game with the Legionaires victorious by a "score of 9-2. The first period was end to end with no scoring until Port scored their first of three short handed goals in a span of only 21 seconds with only 33 seconds left on the clock. Jones scored on a pass from Scott, Scott scored on a lone rush seven seconds later and finally Troy scored with assists to "Scott and Seth. - In the second period, Adam Hobbs scored Port's fourth from Danny from a scramble in front of the net. Oshawa then found the mark twice and the period ended with the score 4-2 in Port's favour. Port .then scored five unanswered goals in the third. On Saturday night, Port suffered their first league play loss in Oshawa, at the hands. of the Oshawa Bruins.
