Bill and Photo courtesy Greg Hewson friends arrive safely Bill Lishman of Blackstock, sometimes known as "Father Goose" and his eighteen Canada geese landed safely at the Airlie Research Centre in Virginia. Lishman contacted the £itizen on October 26 to announce their safe arrival. In spite of high winds, rain and fog the flight went fairly well and each time they touched down for a short rest, whether it be for a few hours or a couple of days, they always received the royal treatment from our American neighbours. Lishman departed for Virginia on October 19 and made the trip in one week. At one time he wasn't sure if the trip would take as little as five days or a few weeks so is pleased everything went well. The geese were led by Lishman and another pilot/photographer, Joe Duff, in two specially or gned ultralight aircraft. The fight was closely monitored and That was then ....
