After three ends Richard Van Camp was down 7 to 0. Richard made a valiant effort at a comeback and managed to match Fred's seven points after eight ends but had given up two in the fifth to allow Fred a 9 to 7 win. One of the Highlights of the evening was Fred's vice, Ivan Dejong, falling while coming out of the hack. Many others would have given up on making the shot but Ivan was able to hold 'the rock in mid air, as though it were. a bag of popcorn, and gently set it down and make the shot. The rocks weigh 50 pounds and Ivan made it look easy. Farming is a healthy lifestyle. Right Ivan? On sheét one a rematch from last week 'was taking place. Dale Van Camp and Merlin Suggitt paced each other until the fourth end with the score tied at 3. However Dale was able to scoop the 5th, 6th and 8th ends for an 8 to 3 win. On sheet three Cam Porter and John'MacNamara split the ends and after seven it was tied at 6. John persevered and slipped one into the four foot to take a 7 to 6 victory. There is still time to join the Monday night men's curling at Blackstock. Starting time is seven P.M. you can curl for two weeks and we can supply equipment for you during that time. The Junior curling is well underway and Randy Scott, Marie James, Dale Van Camp and Jody Duff were there to teach and supervise. It is quite amazing to see a 50 pound person throw a 50 pound rock . and do it so well, Kids are great aren't they.
