Port's second goall was scored by Ryan Haslam and assisted by Matt McGarry and Mike Milligan November 6 saw. Port travel to Oshawa to play the Black Hawks and the team pulled together to play a great game. The team was short a few players but the coaching staff put gogether a very productive team and came up with a 7 - 0 victory and & much needed boost. Thanks to Martin and.Woods it was the team's first shutout of the year First period saw Mike Dalby score from Mike Wiseman and Matt Skerratt, then lan Garnett scored, assist to Timmers. At 6:48 of the first period Milligan deaked around the defense to score a hard fought goal, assists to McGarry and Skerratt. With time running out in the first Timmers had an unassisted goal The second period saw the Bldck Hawks bring the play to Port, but great defensive play by Howarth and Houthuys kept the shut out intact. The only goal was by Wiseman and assists to Lefort and Garnett. The last 15 minutes saw the boys score a goal by Garnett and assist to Wisetpan. Ryan Haslam played a great defensive game by tying up his man and not allowing them to make and feed passes. The team is now 2-0 in gheir last two games. Juniors played a super game in a losing cause. They were edged 4-3 by host Markham Saturday night. Cara Vander Slagt opened the scoring with just 40 seconds gone with an excellent wrist shot. Setting up Cara were Lisa Bonser and Dana Hooker with some fine passing. Markham came storming back mid way through the first period with two quick goals pie a minute of each other while Port was short handed. The lead was increased te 3-1, three minutes later again with the [.G.A. squad with a player in the penalty box. Port showed lots of character with two goals of their own before the end of the first period to even the score at threes. Natasha moved the ring up to Cara in the centre ice area and quickly on to Dana. Cara stgrted the play on the ensuing free pass. She fed the ring into the Markham end to Natasha who found Lynda Payne in the slot. Lynda snapped the ring smartly into the top left corner to even the score at the end of the first period. The play was even for most of the second period but it was Markham who managed to break the dead lock with ten minutes remaining Port had their chances but the bounce didn't come and the game, which either team could have won, ended in a 4-3 defeat.
