There were a few people skating on the Lake Scugog ice Sunday afternoon, however they may have been taking a chance as ice conditions remain uncertain. A few more days of cold weather are needed to make this activity safe. ww FRESH MARITIME LOBSTERFEST Friday ® Saturday ® Sunday Nights During the Month of December HB LOBSTER DINNER ® SURF 'n TURF HW SEAFOOD PLATTER for two vith fresh lobster, mussels, ¥ shrimp, scallops, crab legs Reservations are not necessary, bul it's ahweys wice to tnow you're coming. 985-1598 SHIRLEY RD, PORT PLRRY RR#2 Pee Wee B Doors battle Lindsay rivals to a draw On Sat. Dec. 11 the Scugog Overhead Doors Pee Wee "B" hockey club played host to After meeting twice before it is obvious that these two fine Pee Wee teams just don't like each' other. Lindsay came out fast taking the play right to Port Perry and applying the body heavily. But trying to "run" Port out the end of the rink just doesn't work. Port went to their checking game and soon Lindsay slowed down on the checking and started to play hockey. Ryan Moynes was patrolling the boards well and Scott Sanderson made a nice hit deep in the Lindsay zone at 11:04. The line of David Gainey, Derek Campbell and Blayne Kinnunen storming into the Lindsay zone at 8:21 and Kinnunen split the defence and Oh, What a Glove save the Lindsay goaltender came up with to keep the game scoreless. At 6:04 it was Lindsay's turn to play pass the puck inside the Port Perry blueline and caught the corner on a hard shot from the point to take the lead 1-0, Port kept hammering away. trying to get the equalizer but the Lindsay defence was getting stingy, turning Port away shaking their heads time and again. Lindsay had Port hemmed in its own end when the puck went back to the point and past the pointman and Travis Pickard scampered the full length of the ice on a breakaway and scored to tie the game at 1.1 with 2:01 showing on the clock. The first period ended with the scoreboard reading Port Perry 1 and Lindsay 1. Port started to get their skating game going but it was evident they were missing their forechecker and spark plug Brad Johnston. At 13:52 Blayne Kinnunen took control of the puck at the Port Perry blueline, off the boards to Scott Sanderson and he waltzed in all alone on the Lindsay goalie and see you later as he scores to give Port Perry the lead 2-1. At 8:51 Lindsay scored to tie the game at 2.2, With Port Perry and Lindsay tied, Port struck agaip when Port had Lindsay deep in their own zone and David Gainey put a nice pass over to Scott Sanderson who scored on a long shot to give Port Perry a 8-2 lead at the 8:37 mark of the second period. Just one minute later David Gainey intercepted a Lindsay pass at centre ice, over to Justin Sheehey to Scott Sanderson and He Scores!! Scott Sanderson completed his Hat Trick to give Port a 4-2 lead. At 5:20 Deryk Campbell took control of the puck in the Port Perry zone, up to Ryan McQuade who hit Scott Sanderson with a beauty pass and he scored to give Port a 5-2 lead. Lindsay was not ready to load up the bus yet as they scored with 35 seconds left in the second period to make the score 5-3 in Port Perry's ~ favour. Lindsay was playing well and had Port hemmed in its own zone at 13:05 when they scored a cheap one to pull within one Lindsay scored again at 10:36 to tie the game at 5.5. Both teams were playing well but the game was called on a curfew so the final score was Port Perry 5 and Lindsay 5. Playing in goal for Port Perry was Michael MacLennan. Honorable Mention for Good Hustle goes to Blayne Kinnunen and Deryk Campbell and Scott Harper gets the nod for Good Defensive Effort. When the Doors big defenceman Jeff Neal returns to the lineup after his injury, itl give the defensive unit a little more clout. Port Perry's goalie played well facing 30 shots. Scott Sanderson scored four goals in this game. Nice game Scott and nice game to the Doorsmen.
