Merchants in tough - company at Jr. C tourney It was a busy weekend for the Little Britain Merchants who reached the quarter finals in the second annual Bell Canada The Merchants came up against the high-flying Orangeville Crushers (who have 2.19-3 record in league play this season) Showing a wpll disciplined attack, the Crushers defeated the Merchants 4-1 to bounce them from the tournament. Mike Shaw got the lone marker for Little Britain. In game of the tourney, the Merchants came up against the Napanee Raiders, last year's tournament champs and all- Ontario Junior C banner winners. ' This victory advanced the Merch to the quarter final round agdinst the Crushers, In Central League play last week the Merchants hosted Bobcaygeon on Wednesday evening and the Bullets went home with a 5-1 victory. It was just the third wictory of the season for the last place Bullets and two have come at the expense of the Merchants. Whitby came back in the second to tie it up and get the lead with two quick goals by Ian Bonser and Steven Schweaga. With 52 seconds to go Eric Bird made it dead even going into the third.
