It may be a little intimidating for adults to consider a return to high school where the students are the same age as their children. Mrs. Richardson said her experience since last September has been nothing but positive. "I really look forward to the school day. This has helped to boost my confidence and my self- esteem," she said. One initial concern was the fact her 14-year old daughter was starting grade nine at the same time. "We talked about this and I wanted to be sure she (her daughter) would be comfortable," said Mrs. Richardson. Now, Mrs. Richardson and her daughter spend a lot of time talking about their classes and even do homework together at the kitchen table. Sea of Slaughter to be seen on video On Thursday, February 24, there will be a free showing of the video "Sea of Slaughter", a Nature of Things episode narrated by Farley Mowat and based on his book of the same name. The documentary details man's destruction of various Atlantic Ocean species, including whales, seal pups, lobsters, herring and tuna. Don't let the title put you off - this show is well worth seeing and, although disturbing, is not as bloodthirsty as its name suggests "Sea of Slaughter" will be shown at 7:30 p.m. in the staff lunchroom at Port Perry High School, and those who attend are invited to bring along a mug for tea or coffee.
