Doors gave it 100% in Ontario hockey series On Saturday, March 26, the Overhead Doors PeeWee "B" hockey club played host to Mooreétown in game four of their best three out of five All Ontario finals. Port came out hard in the first period because it was do or die for the PeeWee B's. Port and Mooretown went at it head to head with both teams having their chances but the goalies had come to play. Mooretown scored at the 12:30 mark to grab a 1-0 lead and Port Perry scored at 3:39 to tie the game at 1-1 when Travis Pickard scored from Ryan McQuade and Alex Wordley, The first period ended tied at one with Mooretown outshooting Port 12 to 11. Port had been pressing hard for most of the first period but couldn't get much to go in the net. The second period was a back and forth affair with Mooretown having the edge in play and scoring a Powerplay goal at 5:28 and also scored at 2:42 for a 8-1 lead. Mooretown outshot Port Perry 19-7. The horn sounded to end the game with Mooretown defeating Port Perry 3-1 and winning the All Ontario Championship. Playing in goal for Port Perry was Corey Branton. It was a good year but second best in all of Ontario isn't so bad when you stop and think about it. The goaltending duo of Mike MacLennan and Corey Branton was solid all year. It is too bad someone had to lose this game, béing as how both played well enough to win. David's Hairstyling won 8-1 for the trophy. It was a great team effort.
