Each artist has created a basket representing each letter of the alphabet. (*A" and *M", of course, refer to Ankaret and Melinda.) This allows a great variety of techniques and materials to be used. Some pieces are sculpture and some are whimsy. The purpose of the show is to entertain as well as to showcase basketry in all of forms. About the artists: Ankaret Dean is truly a dean of her craft. 8he has shown internationally, she has published, she has been granted many awards and has Been the resident artist in Amazing Basketry coming to Library Gallery and former co-chairman of The Basketry Network, and an active participant of Basketry Focus, an_ international of basketmak hools and most ly she was a C.E.8.0. volunteer in India to teach basketry.
