Later, in his teens, he started painting native scenes. By using ink, watercolors and acrylic, David explored his Ojibwe heritage through his art. The artist and several of his paintings were guests at the, . Native Perspectives store over the weekend. His works touch the hearts of many 'admirers and are sought by collectors throughout Canada and abroad. Looking at David's work you get a strong feeling of his native culture. His work is cryptic and has that sense of magic about it. David's work has been Directory update The Canadian Mental Health Association - Durham Branch is updating its annual Directory of Self-help Groups. This directory is a public service listing of self- help groups within the Region. Previously listed groups are encouraged to return their information as soon as possible. The deadline for submissions is July 7th, 1994. Groups not presently listed, but wishing more information about listing, are asked to contact Judy in the Public Education Office at 436-8760. The CMHA/Durham Branch has been serving the region since 1959 and continues to play an active role in educating the public through services such as the Speakers Bureau, an agency library, Mental Health Week and special projects. commissioned to appear on several striking posters for various 2vents and agencies. Available now is his art shown on bottles of Pinot Noir, sold only at the retail outlet in Vaughan, at the junction of Hwy 7 and the 400. His art will also be labelling bottles of Chardonnay, Late Harvest and Ice Wine this summer. Married, with two girls, David and his wife life on the shores of Buckhorn Lake at Curve Lake First Nation, just north of Peterborough.
