The occhsion was the graduation from the Ashburn Moms and Tots group. These children will be off to kindergarten next year. They are from left Alastair Usher, Justin D'Alleva, Emma Fitzsimmons, Laura Noxon, Alistair Grierson. While at Sundance the children got to meet all kinds of Interesting animals, had a hay ride, a pony ride and a picnic lunch. * Bantams win streak comes to abrupt halt The Port Perry Bantam Merchants' win streak came to a screeching halt last week, as they lost two games to squads from East Gwillimbury and Bramalea. The latter game took place on Monday, June 20th, when the Merchants hit the road for a late night affair with the Bandits in Great defense key to victory Swain's Seeds 18 Lishman's 6 Excellent defense provided the key to victory for Swain's in Cartwright Minor Softball action last week. . The "grads," Justin D'Alleva, Emma Fitzsimmons, Laura Noxon, Alastair Usher and Alistair Grierson, were presented with diplomas and wore their mortar boards as they played op the grounds at Sundapce Meadows, took a hay ride and saw a host of interesting animals. Ashburn Moms and Tots is a unique program for pre- schoolers established more than a decade ago by a small group of mothers looking for a relaxed, friendly way to get together once a week and have their kids enjoy many activities such as field trips, songs, crafts and play. They meet every Thursday morning from September to June, Moms and Tots is a non profit organization which receives no government funds, but lots of support from local businesses and service clubs in the Ashburn area. The group also does fund- raising on its own to purchase supplies for crafts and for the kids' snacks. The group also supports various groups that help mothers and their children in Durham Region. The youngest member is just two manths old and the oldest is five. The "grads" who enjoyed their dav at Sundance Meadows, just north of Seagrave, will be moving on to Kindergarten in the fall.
