Classic Car Show a great success By all accounts the Cruisin' Classics Second Annual Car Show at the Scugog Museum on Sunday was a great success. Aside from a brief mid- afternoon shower the weather was perfect and hundreds of spectators were in attendance to admire the more than 130 classic and vintage cars and trucks which came from as far away as Port Hope and Brampton. Cruisin' Classic president Janet Smith said organizers were more than pleased with the number of vehicles entered in this show and the fact it drew such a large crowd of spectators. Proceeds from the show will be turned over to the Scugog Shores Museum. The following is a list of the awards presented to owners of vehicles registered in the show. Best GM: 67 Chev. What organ produces most digestive enzymes? Is a zipper stitched from top to bottom or bottom to top? These are only a few of the questions that challenged the Durham West 4-H members at the Go For The Gold Competition on August 2nd at the Greenbank hall. For the 1994 competitions, ten teams competed with the Port Perry Dairy team of Laura Phoenix, Barclay Phoenix, Matt Xt PERRY OPT, - Established 1982 - Phoenix and Carl Phoenix emerging the winners. Runner- up team was the North Ontario Dairy team of Megan Behr, Melanie Fisher, Chris Shier and Glen Creighton. The all-star team of Rob Ashton, Laura Yates, Carl Phoenix, Michael Helms and alternates Michael Moore, Shari Batty and Chris Shier was chosen to represent Durham West at the Regional Competition, October lst in Wellington County. It originally sold for $5300. The Lukes owned a similar car 30 years ago when they first got married.
